Later this month the LAPQ will record their debut album, featuring the music of Joseph Pereira, Eric Guinvian, Jeffrey Holmes and Sean Heim at </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"><a href="http://www.skysound.com/" rel="external">Skywalker Sound</a></span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"> in Marin, California.<br /><br />Founded in 1995 by Sandy Lerner and Len Bosack (founders of Cisco Systems), Sono Luminus credits their expertise in digital signal processing, computational mathematics and physics with elevating their ability to capture true performance fidelity in classical music recordings.  In recent years they have received the 2007 Award of Excellence in High Resolution Audio from the Audio Engineering Society, nominations in both the 50th and 51st </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; ">GRAMMY&reg;</span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"> Awards, and most recently won Best Engineered Classical Album at the 53rd </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; ">GRAMMY&reg; awards (2011). The applause was genuine and enthusiastic, so much so as to be delivered after each movement of the work (not that the performers minded!)<br /><br />Two more performances are slated for the remainder of the 2009/2010 season, including a quick jaunt to the California Institute of the Arts to perform Eric Guinivan's Ritual Dances, and then a major end of the year performance at USC's Newman Hall, where the LAPQ will be the ensemble-in-residence of the 2nd Los Angeles Composers Project, sponsored by the What's Next Ensemble.<br /><br />This performance will feature an encore presentation of Shaun Naidoo's </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"><em>Bad Times Coming</em></span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"> (with guest pianist Vicki Ray), Eric Guinivan's </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"><em>Ritual Dances</em></span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;">, and two works by Jeffery Holmes, </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"><em>Rays of Twilight</em></span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"> and </span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"><em>Occasus</em></span><span style="font:13px Georgia, serif; color:#191919;"> (world premier).
